Apple's iPhone assembly partner Foxconn has asked the Indian government for larger payments from a manufacturing fund, because other companies failed to meet standards.

The government pledged a total of Rs 41,000 crore ($4.8 billion) in subsidies to manufacturers, and part of that remains unallocated because some companies didn't meet estimated production targets

Foxconn and Dixon Technologies are seeking substantial subsidies under India's incentive scheme, highlighting potential hurdles in India's efforts to attract investments and build itself as a global electronics manufacturing hub.
