PITTSBURGH — The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated outfielder Alek Thomas from the bereavement list ahead of their series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates. There was no corresponding move; Thomas takes the spot vacated by outfielder Randal Grichuk, who was traded to the Kansas City Royals during the game on July 26.
