GM, one of the biggest employers in the Metroplex, is making changes to where some of most popular vehicles are manufactured.

General Motors says that moving production of the Escalade to a site in Michigan will allow the Arlington plant — a huge employer in DFW — to make more of other vehicles.

The automaker says its Cadillac Escalade production will be moved from North Texas to a Michigan plant in early 2027. Arlington has long bragged that their city was the exclusive assembly site for GM’s full-size gas and diesel-powered SUVs.
