The red flag warning for Hawaii has been extended into a fourth day, as high winds, low humidity and an abundance of dry brush combine to make portions of all islands vulnerable to fast-moving wild fires.

The National Weather Service has extended a red flag warning for the leeward sides of all Hawaiian Islands and the interior sections of the Big Island until 6 p.m. Saturday. Forecasters extended the warning following midday observations.

Leeward portions of the state and interior sections of Hawaii Island were placed under Red Flag Warning on Thursday, July 31.
