Per NBA insider Marc Stein, Doncic surpassed his teammate LeBron James and Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry as the leader in jersey sales for the 2024-25 season, becoming the first player since 2012-13 to outsell one of those two veteran superstars. He's also the first international player ever to have the highest-selling jersey in the NBA.

For the first time since the 2010-11 season, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting a playoff series. They technically earned home-court advantage in 2019-20, but because of COVID, they played that entire playoff run in Orlando.

The Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up their regular season on Sunday with a 50–32 record, securing the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. With the playoff matchups now set, the Lakers will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 on Saturday night.
