Week 16 of the NFL season features some games with massive playoff implications, and the first one on the ledger occurred Thursday after the Seattle Seahawks overcame a 16-point second half deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Rams 38-37 in overtime.
Erasing a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold found tight end AJ Barner for a 26-yard touchdown with just 6:23 left in the game. That made it 30-28, but Seattle still needed the ensuing two-point try to tie it up.
The Seattle Seahawks were down 30-14 to the Los Angeles Rams with their home fans booing with fewer than 10 minutes remaining after Sam Darnold threw his second ugly interception that seemingly all but ended their NFC West chances.
Down 16 at one point, the Seahawks executed a comeback victory that will have huge impact on both the division race and the race for the NFC's No. 1 seed. The NFC West has been a juggernaut all year, with the San Francisco 49ers also making a case to win the division. The Arizona Cardinals, however, are already looking towards next year.
