The U.S. is lobbying countries around the world to oppose a resolution brought forward at the U.N. General Assembly by Ukraine and European countries.

In a setback for the Trump administration the assembly approved a European-backed Ukrainian resolution, which demands an immediate withdrawal of Russian troops and calls Moscow’s aggression a violation of the U.

The U.N. Security Council has approved a U.S.-sponsored resolution that calls for a swift end to the Ukraine war but makes no mention of Russian aggression.
