Amanda Anisimova surprised Zheng Qinwen in the Queen's Club Championships semifinals with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory, setting up a clash for her first WTA 500 title this Sunday against Tatjana Maria.

Top seed Zheng Qinwen and unseeded American Amanda Anisimova broke new ground with wins in the quarterfinals of the HSBC Championships on Friday, as both sealed a spot in a grass-court semifinal for the first time.

China's Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen reached the semifinals on grass for the first time in her career as she knocked out home sensation Emma Raducanu 6-2, 6-4 at the Queen's Club Championships on Friday. Zheng, 22, entered the WTA 500 tournament as the top seed and received a bye in the first round.

Zheng Qinwen survived a scare to reach the Queen's Club quarterfinals as the Chinese top seed beat McCartney Kessler 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 on Thursday.

Nine of the Top 10 players in the PIF WTA Singles Rankings will compete for the year's second WTA 500 grass-court event, the Berlin Tennis Open by Hylo.
