President Donald Trump has said he expects iPhones sold in the U.S. to be "manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or any place else."

President Donald Trump threatened Apple Inc. with a tariff of at least 25% if it does not manufacture its iPhones in the US, ramping up pressure on the tech giant to secure more domestic production.

Per Reuters, Apple has been stepping up some parts of iPhone production in India, as China faces much higher tariffs from the U.S. Speaking to reporters later in the Oval Office, Trump suggested that other companies like Samsung “and anybody that makes that product. Otherwise it wouldn’t be fair.”
