Trick-or-treaters should expect winds of 15-25 mph with gusts as high as 50, according to the National Weather Service. “Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects,” the National Weather Service went on to say. “Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result.
While light showers are expected Friday morning, the National Weather Service reports, Connecticut will only have partly cloudy skies by the time people are trick-or-treating.
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Friday night for parts of southern Connecticut. The advisory applies to northern areas of Connecticut's four southern counties — Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London — and is in effect from 11 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.
Winds will pick up during the day on Thursday, with a westerly breeze peaking in the afternoon at 15 to 35 mph for most inland areas and up to 45 mph along the shoreline. Scattered power outages are possible, but the lack of foliage on many trees this time of year should prevent any widespread outages due to downed trees.
