SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA - A 4.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Gilroy Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

Two earthquakes shook the Central Coast, on Thursday afternoon. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.9-magnitude quake hit 3.7 miles south of San Juan Bautista and 10 miles north of Salinas, at 12:48 p.

The National Tsunami Warning Center confirmed that “a tsunami is not expected following the quake”. Alaska’s Department of Transportation said roadways, tunnels and key transport infrastructure would be inspected as a precaution, consistent with established protocols following moderate seismic events.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - A preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake was registered near Idyllwild Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A pair of earthquakes shook parts of Riverside County, near Idyllwild, on Thanksgiving Day. The first earthquake, a preliminary magnitude 3.8, happened at roughly 5:36 p.m. The second, a slightly weaker magnitude 3.5, happened about 30 seconds later, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Two earthquakes were reported Thursday just after 5:30 p.m. southwest of Idyllwild in Riverside County. The first was a magnitude 3.8 quake, which was followed a minute later by a magnitude 3.5 shaker. The quakes were about four miles from Valle Vista, eight miles from Hemet, nine miles from San Jacinto and 13 miles from Beaumont.
