Trump’s proposal for the U.S. to take “ownership” over Gaza and displace Palestinians added to uncertainty over the fate of the enclave and its residents.

During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump said the U.S. should take ownership of the Gaza strip. “The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip,” said Trump.

"We'll own it, and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings," he said.
