Germany's government has banned the largest “Reich citizen” group. The extremist far-right organization calls itself the “Kingdom of Germany” and seeks to undermine the country’s democratic order.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt on Tuesday outlawed the separatist “Königreich Deutschland” (Kingdom of Germany) group, calling it the largest faction within the far‑right Reichsbürger scene and accusing it of building a “counter‑state” financed through illegal banking and insurance schemes.

Police arrested four members of a radical group seeking to replace the modern German state, the interior minister and prosecutors said on Tuesday, in the latest operation against a far-right movement flagged as a potential threat to democracy.
