The Winter Olympics have competitions starting today. But the official beginning of the 2026 Milan Cortina Games is Friday with the opening ceremony. The games conclude on Feb. 22. In total, there will be 19 days of competition over two-and-a-half weeks.

The Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo are the official hosts of the 2026 Winter Games. Milan is the second-largest city in Italy and is noted as a global hub of fashion and design. It will host marquee events such as figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey, as well as the opening ceremony.
