Threats and violent acts have become part of the political landscape, still shocking but somehow not so surprising.

The shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses over the weekend highlights the rise in political violence that's been seen in the U.S. over the past five years. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion reports.

Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed, and state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were wounded in politically motivated shootings early Saturday, Gov. Tim Walz said. Authorities have also identified a suspect who is still at large.
