Fire officials said a woman died after a fire broke out on the 600 block of Kimball Street early Sunday morning.

Authorities say a 64-year-old woman was struck by a Ford F-150. She was transported to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. Investigators say the 59-year-old man driving the truck first hit another vehicle, before reversing and striking the woman on the sidewalk.

A woman is dead after she was hit by a driver who was under the influence and reversed onto the sidewalk in South Philadelphia Saturday night, according to police.

"It's like shattered - my whole world is," said Shella Sitthirath. "That was my mom, but it's okay. We're here. We'll get through it."

Assistant Fire Chief Charles Walker noted that the home did not have any smoke detectors and encouraged Philly residents to call 311 to get them for free.
