Drivers in downtown Caldwell should take alternate routes after a train derailment caused blockage of the intersection of Main Street and 4th Avenue on Friday afternoon. Wheels came off one of the train’s cars Friday, leaving it stuck in the busy intersection, according to a Facebook post by the Caldwell Police Department.

A derailed train is blocking Simplot Boulevard in downtown Caldwell. The train came off the tracks near the intersection of 4th Avenue.

A train is stopped on the tracks, blocking Main and 4th St. in downtown Caldwell. Caldwell Police report that the wheels came off of one of the train cars. According to CPD, the roadway will be closed for several hours.
