As the clocks go back on Sunday morning, much of the UK will be waking up to a day of rain and wintry conditions. Following a chilly Saturday for most, the evening brought showers across some western and northern areas, merging into longer spells of rain in the west, the Met Office said.

While Sunday morning got off to a chilly yet sunny start across central and eastern parts of the UK, clouds over Northern Ireland and Scotland are set to bring outbreaks of rain moving southeastward throughout the day with some colder air moving across Scottish mountains, with the chance of a little snow.
The Met Office suggests a mostly dry morning in the Somerset town, with some showers coming in from the west. From around 1pm, the forecaster says rain will begin to move towards Bridgwater. These showers are expected to be heavy, but fast-paced and are anticipated to move eastwards with the strong winds.
