The Isaac School District's governing board has voted to outsource custodial, cafeteria and landscaping positions in order to save money. The district has been under fire since last month when it was placed under state receivership for overspending its budget by millions of dollars.

The Isaac School Board voted to outsource cafeteria workers, nighttime custodians and landscapers to third-party companies in effort to cut costs and pay back millions in debt. Current district employees in those departments will be offered positions with the third-party companies,

During Thursday's Isaac School District's board meeting, finances were yet again the focus. The board agreed to outsource some positions in order to help pay off debts.

Phoenix has agreed to buy some property from the Isaac School District. The sale will help alleviate both the district’s budget shortfall and the city’s need for affordable housing.
