Campers as young as 8-years-old were swept away by catastrophic flooding in central Texas when tropical rainfall sent the Guadalupe River surging onto Camp Mystic, where the young campers slept.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said in a press conference Sunday morning that, as of 9 a.m., 59 people have died in the catastrophic flooding stemming from a storm early Friday morning in Kerrville, Texas. Of the 59 victims, 38 are adults including 18 unidentified, and 21 are children including four unidentified.
