Veteran defensive lineman Ndamdukong Suh, who won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, is retiring after playing 13 seasons in the NFL.

After 13 NFL seasons played and two away from the game, former Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh officially announced his retirement. The 38-year-old Oregon native shared the news on Saturday morning in an emotional social media post, which also touched on the passing of his father the previous year.

To announce his retirement, Suh shared a heartfelt message on social media, paying tribute to his late father, who he lost exactly one year ago today. It was his dad who told Suh to “let football go” before he passed, telling Ndamukong, “You’ve done everything you set out to do.”
