Earlier today (Wednesday), during operational activity conducted by IDF troops in the area of eastern Rafah, the troops encountered several terrorists who emerged from an underground terrorist infrastructure.

Palestinian media reports a series of Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling in southern Gaza’s Rafah a short while ago. The strikes come after Israeli forces stationed in the Rafah area came under attack by terror operatives, in an apparent violation of the ceasefire. The IDF has not yet officially commented on the incident.

Intense clashes continue in Rafah as Israeli forces advance on remaining Hamas units entrenched in the tunnel network. According to reports, a senior Hamas commander in Rafah was killed along with three fighters while attempting to escape the tunnels.
