LOS ANGELES — The USC men’s basketball team built up a lead in the first half and held Washington State off in the second half to beat the Cougars 68-61 in a complete-game effort.
Former Pac-12 Conference counterparts Washington State and Southern California will meet in a nonconference clash on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The Cougars (3-7) travel to Los Angeles to face a familiar foe in the Trojans (9-1). Washington State won three of the last four clashes with USC when both were Pac-12 members. Chad Baker-Mazara (USC) averaged 25 points over his last four games.
