San Antonio Spurs prodigy Victor Wembanyama will miss the remainder of the NBA season due to a life-threatening deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his right shoulder.

While it's unclear where Wembanyama's clot is located in the shoulder, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in the body:

The Spurs are signaling optimism, with a team source telling The Athletic that Wembanyama is expected to be fully healthy and ready at the start of training camp in October. Per the team source, Wembanyama had been experiencing low energy in recent weeks, which initially caused concern.
