FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Kansas big man Hunter Dickinson grabbed an offensive rebound and had the ball cradled into his body with both arms, with no intention of letting TCU take it away from him.

The Kansas basketball team survived a scare against UCF on Tuesday night in a surprisingly tough Big 12 Conference showdown. UCF hung around for the entire game, but Kansas won 91-87 in Lawrence. UCF actually held a two-point lead at halftime before Kansas scored 50 points in the second half.

Kansas coach Bill Self said the effort against UCF was like everyone was hungover, despite a Kansas win. Zeke Mayo was the standout star in this one, along with Hunter Dickinson. And boy, did Kansas need its two stars to beat UCF 91-87 at home.
