The Minnesota Vikings have a decision to make at quarterback this offseason, but it looks like Sam Darnold could command a contract in free agency that makes it easy to move on to first-round pick J.J.

The Minnesota Vikings had an exceptional 2024 regular season in large part because Sam Darnold had a career year. The former No. 3 pick proved that he's more than capable of being a starting quarterback in the NFL.

The Titans and Browns are best positioned for Sanders and Ward given that they hold the draft’s No. 1 and No. 2 picks, respectively. But the Raiders are in an equally dire situation to the Giants, and the Jets, Steelers, Colts and Saints all could make big changes, too.

Mayfield, previously named a first alternate, joins Jared Goff (Detroit Lions) and Sam Darnold (Minnesota Vikings) as the NFC quarterbacks. Mike Evans from the Bucs was recently added to the roster after CeeDee Lamb's injury, while teammates Vita Vea and Tristan Wirfs already selected.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced that Mayfield has been added to the NFC squad for the 2025 Pro Bowl games, replacing Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is unable to participate due to injury. Mayfield had previously been named a first alternate at the position when the Pro Bowl rosters were initially unveiled on January 2.

Jayden Daniels and the Commanders got the better of Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers in the playoffs and Daniels got the better of Mayfield in the initial Pro Bowl voting, but Mayfield will be in Orlando for this week's skills competitions and other festivities.
