Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was denied the chance to break the NFL rushing record after being rested in the last week of the regular season.
Saquon Barkley has always made the impossible look possible. What’s truly impossible is to think that week in and week out he continues to embarrass his opponents whose number one goal every week is simply to prevent him from embarrassing them.
Barkley emerged from the bye rushing for 176 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 and went on to deliver an MVP-caliber season. He topped the 100-yard mark in nine of his 11 post-bye regular-season games and finished with 2,005 rushing yards.
The Philadelphia Eagles held off the Los Angeles Rams, and Nick Sirianni had a championship reaction to the Divisional Round win.
The Philadelphia Eagles, led by Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, will aim to reach another Super Bowl, but to do so, they’ll have to defeat none other than the surprising Washington Commanders.
Saquon Barkley was rested in the final week of the regular NFL season by his coach Nick Sirianni, and Terry Bradshaw criticised the decision.
Verse ran his mouth last week, saying how much he hates Eagles fans. That stems from the way the Philadelphia faithful showed up to the Eagles-Rams game out West back in November. Hey, pal. That was a Rams home game. Eagles fans were doing their job traveling for their team and creating a great environment for the Birds on the road.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni explained all the elements of those long Saquon Barkley touchdown runs that might not be obvious.
The Eagles had just hired a first-time head coach in Nick Sirianni, who stammered his way through his opening press conference; who didn't know if his quarterback was going to be a disgruntled and declining Carson Wentz, or an unknown running QB coming off his rookie season in Jalen Hurts?
Nevertheless, head coach Nick Sirianni said he’s not concerned because he knows Philadelphia can win in multiple ways. “Yeah, we’re doing everything we can do to win each football game,” Sirianni said.
This time last year the coach's job was in peril. Fifteen wins later, two games from a second Super Bowl appearance, he clearly deserves a new deal.
After turning in one of his worst games of the season, Nick Sirianni weighs in on AJ Brown's lack of playoff production for the Eagles.
