MADISON, S.D. (South Dakota Searchlight) – A Republican state legislator from Madison filed his statement of candidacy Wednesday to run for South Dakota’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The South Dakota Democratic Party hosted Walz during their annual McGovern Day dinner July 12 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. The event honors the legacy of the late George McGovern, an American politician who represented the state for 18 years in the U.S. Senate.
