With the wildfires raging on in the Los Angeles area, the NBA has decided to postpone the Lakers game against the Hornets.

The NHL postponed the game between the Kings and Calgary Flames that had been scheduled for Wednesday night, and a day later, the NBA postponed the Lakers’ game against the Charlotte Hornets.

The game between the Lakers and Hornets set for Thursday in Los Angeles has been postponed due to the ongoing wildfires.

"The entire NBA family sends its thoughts and support to the community of Los Angeles during this challenging time," the league said.

Entering a stretch of nine consecutive games in their home state, with seven of those in their own building, the Los Angeles Lakers are scheduled to play host to the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday intent on fine tuning their new look amid trying conditions.
