The Boston Bruins announced on Monday that they have recalled forward Vinni Lettieri from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League before their Tuesday game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at TD Garden.

According to interim coach Joe Sacco, the physical forward is out with an illness. Frederic’s absence leaves the Bruins without one of their most physical players. He has seven goals and seven assists in 47 games. The Bruins are now missing, Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm, Cole Koepke and Frederic.
Vinni Lettieri scored the first Bruins goal, and Brad Marchand and Elias Lindholm added empty netters for Boston.
If he can’t go, the Bruins will be down several veterans. In addition to Hampus Lindholm, who is already out, Boston out both Charlie McAvoy and Mark Kastelic on injured reserve on Tuesday.
