NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tire manufacturer Bridgestone Americas is closing its LaVergne, Tenn., truck and bus radial tire plant and laying off 700 workers there, the company said in a release.

A Bridgestone tire manufacturing plant in Rutherford County will shut down this summer and lay off 658 workers, according to a WARN notice.
