Hong Kong-based designers are reimagining Hong Kong’s historic tram and the ever-popular ferries to see what public transit could look like in a world after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hong Kong's Star Ferry shuttles passengers back and forth across Victoria Harbor. This spring, the Star Ferry reported a loss of about $9 million since the middle of 2019. Ridership has plummeted.

"For decades the Star Ferry has been a poster child for the city, featuring in the iconic shots of the harbour. If we lose it, we'll be left with a gaping hole in Hong Kong's smile," she said.
