White House envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow on Tuesday and held talks that led to the release of American teacher Marc Fogel, who was detained in Russia, White House national security adviser Mike Waltz said in a statement.

"I feel like the luckiest man on Earth right now," Marc Fogel said, standing alongside President Trump in the White House upon his return.

The Trump administration secured the release of Marc Fogel, an American teacher detained for more than three years in Russia, in an “exchange,” the White House announced Tuesday.
