President Donald Trump on Friday sued the Wall Street Journal’ s parent firms Dow Jones and News Corp, its owner Rupert Murdoch, and two reporters over an article alleging that he sent a “bawdy” birthday letter in 2003 to Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump has sued Murdoch and The Wall Street Journal over its July 17 article alleging the president sent a “bawdy” letter to Epstein for his 50th birthday, which included a drawing of a naked woman and Trump telling the late financier, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

The lawsuit sets the stage for another legal showdown initiated by Trump against the media, this time against his close ally.
