President Trump did not deliver a formal address to the American public to explain why the country was at war, a departure from his predecessors.

Trump took to Truth Social Friday morning sending off endorsements in congressional and statewide races in Texas.

Details: On the morning of 28 February, Trump announced that the US had begun "major combat operations" in Iran. Trump said the goal of the United States is to "defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people".

Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham said the operation would be "violent, extensive and I believe, at the end of the day, successful."
