Los Angeles Sparks guard Lexie Brown has been traded to the Seattle Storm, both teams announced on Friday. The Storm acquired Brown and the Sparks’ 2025 third-round draft pick in exchange for the Storm’s 2025 and 2027 second-round picks — a move that will benefit them in the short term and seemingly reflects Los Angeles’s desire to move forward with other guards on the roster.

Mackenzie Holmes, the 26th pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, signed her first contract with the Seattle Storm, the team announced Thursday.

PORTLAND (WGME) -- Gorham-native Mackenzie Holmes has officially signed her first WNBA contract. Holmes was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the 2024 WNBA Draft, but she missed all of last season with a knee injury. The team announced the contract signing late Wednesday night.

Wheeler is a scrappy veteran guard who has spent most of her career in Indiana. The 33-year-old began her career on the New York Liberty in 2015, and has since enjoyed stops with the Atlanta Dream, Indiana Fever, and Los Angeles Sparks. In her 8-year WNBA career, she’s averaged 8.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 23.2 minutes per game.

After two seasons with the Indiana Fever, one of the Fever fets has signed with another WNBA franchise in free agency.
