Alexander sealed the deal in two hours and 42 minutes, overcoming a set deficit and outplaying his rival with a strong performance in sets two and three. Thus, the German secured his 21st Masters 100 semi-final, leaving Andy Roddick on 20.

Something about Canada suits Alexei Popyrin. The Australian has never lost a match at the Canadian Masters, winning the title on debut in Montreal last year and going 3-0 in Toronto in 2025.
