Viktor Gyokeres is one of Europe's most prolific goalscorers, but can the Brighton flop do it at the very highest level after joining Arsenal?
A late Martin Odegaard penalty, won brilliantly by 15-year-old wonderkid Max Dowman, helped Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-2 in a pre-season game in Singapore.
The 27-year-old has penned a five-year contract with Arsenal, who have paid €63 million ($74m) plus €10m in add-ons for him. Gyokeres has become the fifth-most expensive signing in club history after Declan Rice, Nicolas Pepe, Kai Havertz and Martin Zubimendi, the latter arriving from Real Sociedad earlier this month for €70 million.
Mikel Arteta’s side are close, and the addition of Viktor Gyökeres, who scored a staggering 97 goals during his two seasons with Sporting CP, may well be the talismanic presence who converts enough draws into victories to help Arsenal finally claim Premier League glory.
