The Washington Commanders are re-upping veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota to back up Jayden Daniels in the Offensive Rookie of the Year's second NFL season.

Marcus Mariota will remain the backup in Washington. Mariota has agreed to re-sign with the Commanders on a one-year contract worth $8 million, according to multiple reports. Mariota, 31, threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 92 yards a touchdown while appearing in three games as Jayden Daniels' backup last season.
