SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Potential record floods are threatening Skagit County as the Skagit River is expected to wreak havoc on the valley over the next two days, and an aging dike system has people nervous.
Mount Vernon Mayor Peter Donovan says the city is as prepared as possible for a potentially historic Skagit River flood, with downtown floodwalls deployed and Level 3 evacuation orders in place.
