Vientos, the 25-year-old third baseman, had a breakout season in 2024, becoming the team's number-two hitter in the playoffs after starting the year in Triple-A. He held his own at third base defensively, quieting fears that he wouldn't stick at the position long-term.

Alonso remains the top power hitter available, but as a first baseman with little value outside of his bat, his market has not developed as he hoped. Most recently, the four-time All-Star’s camp extended an exclusive offer to the Mets, believed to be for three years with a high average annual value.
