A key community board rejected a bid to build a glittering $12 billion casino complex in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards — a potential death blow for the project. Community Board 4 — which represents the Hudson Yards neighborhood — voted unanimously Monday night against approving a zoning change to allow the project by Related Companies and Wynn to proceed.

Manhattan Community Board 4 has voted unanimously to reject a casino and entertainment complex proposal by gaming giant Wynn for Hudson Yards. The advisory vote now goes to Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine as part of the city’s land use review process, ahead of an eventual public hearing. The tally on Monday was 39 against and 1 not voting.

Manhattan Community Board 4 recommended rejecting plans on Monday to upzone part of the area and potentially allow a developer to build a full-scale, full-service casino near The High Line. The advisory body voted unanimously against the casino plan for an undeveloped area near the linear public park on the West Side.
