Sjoeke Nüsken has been promoted to vice-captain of the German women's team, supporting new captain Janina Minge following Giulia Gwinn's exit from the European Championship due to injury. "We discussed this within the team and also received the message from (coach) Christian (Wück) that Sjoeke will take on the vice-captaincy.

Germany captain Giulia Gwinn has been ruled out of the rest of the Women’s European Championship with a knee injury.

Germany will be without captain Giulia Gwinn for the remainder of their Euro 2025 campaign, after she sustained a knee injury.
