Outdoor workers in Florida are reporting dizziness on the job, headaches and hospitalizations after experiencing heatstroke this summer.

Extreme heat is disrupting air travel across the U.S. this week, as record-setting temperatures impact both flight schedules and aircraft performance.

Central Florida is currently experiencing a dangerous heat wave, with temperatures expected to challenge record highs in multiple counties.

About 200 million people are under some sort of heat alert Monday, including 24 million under the highest alert — extreme heat warning — for scorching conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for New York City and parts of the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut, with expected wind gusts of up to 70 mph and potential hail. After several mild summer weather days, the excessive heat has returned. Additionally, severe weather could be a factor for some Friday night.
