The New York Knicks made a trade offer for Kevin Durant at this past season’s trade deadline, according to a fresh report from ESPN insider Shams Charania. Speaking ahead of Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, Charania said the Suns and Knicks engaged in talks and that “there was some mutual interest.”

Kevin Durant’s bags are essentially already packed for him to be shipped out of Phoenix — and if New York were to make some inquiring phone calls, it would merely be a revisitation of the idea, at least according to one NBA insider.

The Suns should ask for those draft picks for Durant. As far as players, landing Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. in a trade would give the Suns two Day 1 starters to pair up with Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and a big man.
