According to the state’s latest report from June 30, $7.6 billion combined from the federal and state governments has been directed to Helene recovery. That’s roughly 12.8 percent of the estimated cost. And while more than half of that $7.6 billion comes from the federal government, only $1.1 billion has actually made it into the state's hands.
