Tomoyuki Sugano twirled 5 1/3 sharp innings, allowing only one run and striking out four to lead the Orioles to an 8-1 win over the Royals.

Jackson Holliday highlighted Baltimore's four-run sixth inning with a two-run single, Tomoyuki Sugano was solid through five-plus innings and the Orioles defeated the Kansas City Royals 8-1 to snap a three-game skid.

The early-season results have not been particularly impressive for these Orioles. They’ve lost three in a row and done so in rather uncompetitive fashion. You would think there’s nowhere to go but up from here. But they are playing the Royals, a franchise that has given the Orioles nothing but fits for the last 10+ years.
