In the top of the ninth inning, Suárez was hit on the left hand by Tigers closer Will Vest, with the force causing his helmet to fly off. Suárez knelt down and grabbed his hand before eventually leaving the game. Blaze Alexander ran in his place.
It's easy to identify the flaws: a missing swing-and-miss reliever and a righty power bat. Securing them will require sacrifices.
Sánchez allowed two-run homers in the third and fourth innings, one of them coming from Chicago's Luis Robert Jr., a potential trade deadline target.
