Gabriel Bonfim edged out the UFC's oldest rostered fighter, Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson by split decision in the night's co-main event. Two judges scored the bout 29-28 for Bonfim, while one scored 29-28 in favor of Thompson.

Knockout king Derrick Lewis extended his record by making quick work of Tallison Teixeira in the UFC on ESPN 70 main event.

From the opening bell, Lewis demonstrated his signature power. Despite a brief moment where Teixeira managed to land a shot, Lewis quickly recovered and unleashed a devastating left hand that sent his opponent crashing to the canvas.
