The Ruggles Brothers – True Story The Ruggles brothers, John and Charles, were notorious American outlaws active in California during the late 19th century 🔫. In 1892, they committed a robbery of the Redding–Weaverville stagecoach, hoping to steal a strongbox rumored to contain gold 💰. During the heist, the brothers ambushed the stagecoach and fatally shot guard Amos “Buck” Montgomery, causing shock and outrage in the local community 😠.
